Allocating from the Donor Egg Bank in Cryologs

Artisan enables the practice to allocate cryopreserved donor eggs from the bank directly to the patient/IP, allowing the laboratory to thaw these samples within the patient record.

Navigation

Click on Lab Tools (microscope icon) and select Specimen Log from the dropdown menu.

Click on the Donor Egg Banking tab in the Specimen Log and search for the donor in the Select Donor Search field (search by Last name, First name).

Donor Egg Banking Views

The Donor Egg Bank can be viewed in the following categories:

-All Cryo Oocytes (All frozen donor oocytes logged for the clinic)

-Current Donor’s Oocytes (All frozen and thawed oocytes for the selected donor)

The following columns make up the Donor Egg Banking in the specimen log:

  1. Donor name

  2. ER date

  3. Egg Bank (if donor eggs are shipped in to your clinic’s egg bank from an outside egg bank)

  4. Grade at ER

  5. Allocation: Oocyte bank or Cryo to patient

  6. Patient Name (if the egg has been allocated to a patient)

  7. Cryo Date

  1. Device/Tank/Canister/Cane/Plug Color

Allocating Donor Egg to a Patient

If you will be allocating multiple eggs from the donor to a patient, you may use the checkboxes to the left of the donor’s name to select the eggs that will be allocated.  Once all eggs that need to be allocated to the patient have been selected, click on Oocyte Bank under the Allocation column.

On the next window, select Cryo to Patient under the Allocation heading.  A Select Patient name search field will populate.  Pull the patient up in the search field that the eggs will be allocated to and click Commit.

The sample has now been allocated to the patient/IP, and its allocation is updated to Cryo to Patient with the patient’s name under the Patient Name column.

The allocated oocytes will also appear in the recipient’s Embryo Cryo Log.  The grade will be listed in italics to indicate that they are donor oocytes.

The source/status of embryos column will indicate that the oocytes were donated with the donor’s name and retrieval date.  Please note that the donor name will be lab facing only.  The recipient will not see the donor’s name in the Embryo Cryo Log.
